This is a lightsnatcher.
In the world of Sasha, my fantasy self, they're basically things like depression ect. and can posess individuals and places so when you interact with them they drain your energy and make you feel not good. You can't necessarily see them at first, but once you realise they're there, it gets a bit easier to deal with them.
Once your heart creates one, it's really really really hard to get rid of a snatcher. They were the reason Sashas wings almost broke entirely. The snatchers inhabit your shadow and take it's form, they don't have a physical form on their own. they won't leave once they got you, they can go dormant but can wake up and make life difficult any time. Though if you know how to handle them, they might not affect you as badly as before. Sasha tries to aknowledge the existence of the snatcher in his shadow and work with it instead of against it at times it gets bad again, but that doesn't always work and sometimes it still influences him negatively.
Sasha gave it the name 'Void' as he belives it's easier to deal with things if it has a name. He's trying to work with them so they can coexist without one sabotaging the other.
Void was born from Sashas heart, or rather all the pain and helpless feelings in there. It lives in his shadow, nowdays mostly sleeping. But there were times when it would feel like Void was trying to rip out Sashas heart, or it would try strangling him so he couldn't breathe, cover his eyes so he only saw darkness ect.
Sometimes, they still try pulling Sasha into darkness but nowdays, Sasha is aware that bad days exist and can get out of Voids grasp or reason with it on his own.
Talking to others helps, and close friends and parents, animals, a better job, seeing joy and beauty in little things. All that makes it easier to reason with Void and accept it's there. Finding these little 'glimmers' in life also helps balancing out possible negative triggers.
And yes, this is me drawing depression, anxiety, c-ptsd, stress, pain, fears, negative feelings, overthinking, low self-esteem, past traumas ect.
