Warren had a bad day at work the day prior, the trevenant feeling like he mishandled a customer interaction between a mother and her child. The day after, Warren arrives at the house of Big Kev, his boss and locally renowned gentle giant, to hopefully hear the right things that will snap him out of his stupor. However, he keeps thinking that this meeting will just be a waste of his boss' time when he already feels like he let his boss down.
This is a nice opportunity to explore what kind of house a mon as mindbogglingly massive as Big Kev might live in. It's also a way to experiment with the discussion of genetic factors to extreme weight gain (I hope, hope, hope I'm understanding the pituitary gland correctly here. I am NOT a certified medical expert.) This is also my first time describing type-based discrimination in a world full of pokemon (Sorry, Warren). While I can see how a prejudice aspect can flesh out a fictional world, it obviously needs to be said that that kind of stuff is uncool now, was uncool before and will never be cool in the future.
Hoo boy, this story's been through the ringer. Let me tell you... The storyboard for this document has been sitting in my Google Docs folder since June of this year, and I only recently get re-inspired to pick it back up this November. I guess I was just... feeling really determined to finish it. By then, some new insight about Big Kev's character inspired me to change some things about the story's outline, and it ended up looking quite different from my older idea. I did include an allusion to that old idea in the new text, though (Haha, trevenant with flowers in his leaves, hehe.)
You ever have that happen to you, where you let a story/drawing fall by the wayside, and when you come back to it later, it ends up looking significantly different than the original idea?
