Here's a set of doodles I drew featuring a sky pirate character and some other members of the crew she's in.
I imagine they are like a scrappy team of ruffians trying to make a living in a grassy plains filled with sky islands.
She's one of the few dog-person crew members, among mostly humans, but they all consider themselves outcasts and are like a big family, and try to make up for her shortcomings (Dog people probably have some distinct physical disability compared to humans, such as poor vision, and very low fine motor control). In the particular setting she's in, luckily its overall fantastical, and there is not too much discrimination. (Some of my other settings are... more intense...)
I've drew here before, originally envisioning her as a common foe archetype that could have been found in a game.

I was also making a 3d model of this character, trying to practice 3d, along with doing drafting work for the orange GEV bike that can also be found three submissions to the left.

If you want, I can tell you what tutorials I have used to learn how to make a basic character.
3d's super intense, so I may want to put that on hold in favor of other projects in the mean time...
But while we are here, some fun ideas I've had for her.
Her proportions are somewhat exaggerated in the 3d model (big hand-paws) as to get a tf2-distinct character silhouette thing going on. I like to draw characters to have unique body types, face shapes, and eye styles.
If she was ever put into a game, there's an idea to synch her animations with the music of the game, to add a bit of bouncy livelyness.
