Also known by "The Song of the Vermonters" (1779) :D
I tried to sing it, somewhat good. I had to do some editing to get rid of the times of where I had to take a sudden sharp breath in (clogged nose) - you'll hear what it sort-of sounded like at the end (I left that breath in cause it didn't really matter to me ;p)
(Also no "Folk" theme for music? :o)
(Was also trying to whisper sing because I couldn't be too noisy lol)
"Ho - all to the borders, Vermonters, come down,
With your britches of deerskin and jackets of brown.
With your red woolen caps and your moccasins come,
To the gatherin' summons of trumpet and drum!
Come down with your rifle; let gray wolf and fox
Howl on in the shadow of primitive rocks.
Let bear feed securely from pig-pen and stall,
Here's two-legged game for your powder and ball!
And cheer, cheer, the Green Mountaineer!
And cheer, cheer, the Green Mountaineer!"
