alt text: Digital painting, an anthro wolf has some gender. They're standing attentively, palms pressed together and tail and ears lifted, looking off to the right. Surrounding them are many rich textures, splatters, and abstract shapes, including a planet-like circle behind the head.
Revisited a commission from a friend, from years ago. Think of it as a follow-up to the last pinup. 2016+2023, Photoshop

"Texture" was the first thing that came to mind, so I can see why you included it in your keywords. I like the balance of light and color, too. You have such a unique approach to your style. It seems so much like physical work that someone would do with a palette knife.
I think of that stuff all the time--those moments where digital is somehow less convenient than just working traditionally. Part of me loves the challenge, and part of me feels silly for investing in digital at all.
I love using palette knives, or at least I did the few times I painted traditionally, for reasons like that. If you appreciate those kinds of marks, you'll probable really enjoy the work of Eric Velhagen!

I'll look at that.
It seems your digital technique takes a lot of work to keep chopping it up like that, even across different programs, such as what you do with Kidpix. But that's part of what makes it so unique. it reminds me a bit of what
Nair does, but your work is more densely textured.

I see what you mean, especially with images like this:

Some pretty nice stuff well done. Pretty classic fantasy illustration, so the Middle Earth, M:TG, and GOT stuff is fitting. It shades a bit into cliche and cheese in a way your work never does. Your work has a lot more raw physicality and impressionism to it, I'd say.
I do post walkthroughs on my patreon!
