You’d think given the type of land presented here - that wild feral animals and other farm critters would be abundant. And there are in the other neighboring ranches/farms - just not on the one that has a 10 ish story tall anthro Siberian Husky living there. Supermarkets don’t exactly has food portions for such an imposing canine - so that source must come from else where. Beardsley is very much aware of this so to see one in such a long time near his home is both a pleasant surprise but also a precipice in both figurative and literal means.
