Despite appearances - Dudley is an elusive creature. He doesn’t like to be put on a spotlight nor does he go out of his way to move out of his comfort zone. The ranch/property he lives on with Beardsley is what he knows and is comfortable with - so he just doesn’t like to wander off for no good reason. But this isn’t because he doesn’t like people - rather the other way around. Seeing mostly others be afraid of you and wince at your presence can weigh any one’s heart down. He loves people and doesn’t stop talking when you get him going - but the internal struggle he feels can make him resent community as a whole sometimes. It’s a thing he can’t really have - and therefore gets envious of it.

Seeing someone like Reede here for instance actively seeking you out and wanting to be a friend is unheard of for him. So while at first he appears rude or taken back - its just him being cautious to not say the wrong thing or come off a certain way. If you’re a macro wanting to be apart of the general smaller populous - the last thing you want is to make someone dislike you much less be afraid of you.

His bashful personality starts to come out when he gets friendly - so be sure to compliment the large Husky so as to put him at ease :D
