With a hum, and a soft huff, she spun her Shuang Gou, and held them behind her at an upward angle. Her head tilting a bit as she seemed to grin lightly.
"Well then, what is your weapon of choice?"
Yep, Shuang Gou, or Hook Swords. Such a fun weapon to play about with. *nodnod*

and very lovely piece of art
and very lovely piece of art
My oh my...the things I could say about this piece...
For me I believe that one of the best pieces of art are the weapons of combat...especially swords and knives, and the work and soul hat goes into forging them and making them fit for war.
Out of the many weapons used in Chinese Martial arts...the Shuang Gou are certainly some of the most elegant ones used, not to mention one of the most well known and popular ones. They are not easy to use though, they require a lot of technique and fluid motion to use properly! Out of the Chinese weapons I've seen...I'd have to say that the Jian and Dao are my favorites.
For European weapons I'm quite partial to central European swords...such as the Zweihander and Grosse Messer (Big Knife), as well some of the Bastard Swords from that region.
As for the picture itself, Kathy-lu did an excellent job. The flowing kimono with Koi motifs on the sleeves, the blades, the pose, that sly look in your eye...VERY nice! ^_^
