So, no matter the job, no matter where in the cosmos one is, the chance to grab a meal, relax, and recover between jobs is universal. So here I am, getting a good meal and some advice from a lovely (and oh by all the spirits of space sexy as all fire jaql rianth. There's a lot of them out here, but they're not always anywhere near this pretty. And, honestly, out here in the Nekhebet, we rats on the whole aren't well-liked. Couple that with me being a Board Certified Magus AND a freelance antiquities collector (there's a lot of less pleasant names for it!) makes me triply unpopular. You'd think a modern polity wouldn't have an unhealthy obsession with their past, but I guess what used to be names on a page have become culture, albeit one WAY different from the origins on Ancient Earth back in Old Sol.

Thus, it makes it all the more special that I'm not just being treated, but being treated well, and by a rianth species most here hold in really high regard. Did I mention that she's pretty? Yeah, I think I did.

I don't think I expected a fancy-dressed and shockingly well-armed rat to grace my stand, especially in the middle of the week when things are toughest, but there she was, looking for a meal and perhaps some advice. The advice is folded into the price of the meal, for me. Rats aren't common in the Arco, or in the Nekhebet for that matter, and this one... A Magus, and an artifact hunter. Luckily, I know not all of them are tomb robbers, not that my view is popular with many. That's alright, I'll weather the scorn. I always do. So here I stand, explaining what of our traditions can be bypassed and which need to be honored. I agree with her view - we weren't always so,... so stuffy about all this, and I wonder when it all crept in. Was it my fourth re-life? My third? Somewhere far enough back I don't bother to clearly recall. Age and experience and all that, you know.

Still, she is pretty, and it's been a long time since I indulged... Plus she is giving me the same look. Perhaps meal, advice, and a bit of fun? Hrmm...
