I don't hate it, but I am disappointed the first Fire/Grass type was a Capsicum Pepper. When there are so many plants that use fire in their reproductive cycles, a plant that pretty much only bothers mammals with its "heat" isn't really that great.

While I am a little sad we didn't get a burning shrub or similar, I also don't know that many folks who even know about that sort of thing. However, lots of people know and love spicy peppers! Plus, Scovillain's design is just delightful to me <3

Huh.

I loved the capsaicin pepper for a few reasons:

1.) It’s not on the nose of being literal fire and a plant - it was far more creative to me.
2.) The Paldea Region is based off Spain so making a spicy plant pepper is super awesome and relevant.
3.) Anytime pokemon does multi-headed its and auto yes for me.
4.) Its teeth are the spiciest parts of the plants, the seeds.
5.) I am getting bored of “pretty” plant Pokémon so getting a badass cool one was overdue imo.

But to each their own. Most of all I’m actually glad it wasn’t a plant on fire or one that has to die by fire because then we might be getting into the ghost realm or something.


Again to each their own but I think it’s a little in poor taste to tell someone who is saying “hey this is my favorite fire type pokemon” …”it’s not that great.” Don’t you think? At least it wasn’t another charizard lol

I like hot peppers, that's not the contention here. I'm not arguing irrelevancy, or the qualities of the design itself. I'm not trying to take your enjoyment, or theirs.
And I qualified my statements very specifically. I even think more pepper plant fire/grass types would be cool.

Was it necessary to share your disappointment in this Pokémon being a first to someone who said it was a favorite fire of theirs? Why this venue? It just seems rude and inappropriately placed.

You saw this art and your decision was “I’m gonna tell them why I’m upset that this reps the first fire/plant” that’s what you did. It was a weird position and approach.

You didn’t say anything about the challenge, this persons art, you just came to complain about the pokemon like…why? Wtf? You weren’t trying to take enjoyment? Well you certainly didn’t share anything positive so that’s all you came to do. I’m out.
