This can be tough. Expanding the scope of your job search may mean a longer commute, having to relocate, making less money, or doing work that you are not interested in. Sometimes that is what it takes to maintain your food and shelter.

This tip is coming from a space of seeing frustrated job searchers who are in an impossible situation because their search scope is pin-tip narrow. Remote work has come a long way, but you might have to leave your small town to do the specialized work you are interested in (or replace small town with pay, what you do in the job, shift schedule, etc.)

Sometimes good can come from expanding your scope. I never thought I would be working in my current industry when I was first getting started, but a global pandemic and a strong desire to leave New Orleans will make a person do unexpected things...
