The moonlight shone against her dark wet nose in the shadows as El sat still, listening to the crunching of snow by small beasts that wandered in the night air. Her packmates were elsewhere, away from her side as the creature of withdrawal inhaled the icy air, lost deep in the trances of her thoughts. There was a slight wedge of grief in her heart whenever the sounds of joyous laughter and carefreeness would sometimes rear its head amongst the others, at times she wished she could partake in it.
Though smiles graced her maw and other facial features - she was a lie.
The wolves who felt they knew her on a deeper level than the others, only knew the side of the face she pretended to be.
The Union still called for answers, their ravens that circled in the day - searching for their lost Lowrath only echoed this.
For now, the Tombs secrets were safe with the Iris.
Eventually the time would come when the Ravens would need to be fed.
