WAlMART HAS CRABS?! D: I totally gotta check mine out. :C

I got him from the Super Walmart for like 3$.
Of course none of the employees knew anything about him. They didn't even know what crabs eat.
So I wasn't able to purchase any crab food for him there.

I'll be going to a pet store today to see if I can find some more stuff to make his habitat a little more tolerable.

They treat their fish so bad... I wish they weren't aloud to carry any..
I'll have to see if mine has any, crabs seem cool.

IKR? When I got to *ANY* Wal-Mart and browse the pet aisles, I'll see beta fish on display in small cramped cups on shelves, and most of them are dead and floating and yet they are *STILL* on display there despite being dead. :'(

Ya. Luckily mine don't carry too many, but even normal pet stores keep betas like that. But their other fish tanks are FULL of dead fish and the sucker fish just sucking up the mess inside. :c

They just probably think "oh they're just fish, it doesn't matter if they die or not".

My sister once went though 7 goldfish from Wal-Mart in a week and they all died after she bought them. ;_;

From what I've learned, a majority of Walmart fish suffer from fin rot or some other disease because of the poor conditions they're placed it.
So I'm not surprised that they all died within such a short amount of time.

Ya... it's hard to find any fish healthy even in good pet stores, especially if it's one long connected tank where they share. :C

Truth be told, Wal*mart treats everything bad X.x You have no clue how many times I got called to the pet department, even though I worked in fabrics. At least I knew more about animals than the dimwits that actually worked there.

It's just more proof of what an evil cooperation Walmart is. D:

I used to work in Pets overnights at Walmart and I was told on several occasions that the day department manager/employees only fed the fish once every 1-2 WEEKS. I was mortified. For a while, they stopped selling the fish, but later restocked them and didn't change their habits. The tanks were ALWAYS full of algae and dead fish, always to the point that the tanks were so green you couldn't see in and the crabs and remaining fish were eating the dead ones. It was horrible. Walmart is the last place that should be selling animals. At least they aren't selling small animals anymore. :/

Ugh, yes. It's a terrible place to work. I hadto quit because I was pregnant at the time and I was just under so much stress it was making me ill all the time.

He's cute! I used to own hermit crabs and they were so neat to put on the floor and watch them crawl around and to hold. :3

I haven't taken Mr Krabs out yet to hold, he's really fast. xD

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.
I don't think this Walmart regularly carried fiddler crabs.
(Apparently, they were usually in stock with little frogs and snails, but instead they had crabs. Wonder why.)

Most crabs are scavengers.... so if you put a little fish in there for him, like some tuna, I'm sure he'd be very happy!

Also, you can buy sand at most craft stores for pretty cheap. it'll make him more comfortable. That way he can dig a little too ^^

We're going to a pet store later today. :3
I read up on the care of fiddler crabs, their diet and habitat needs.
I definitely want to get some calcium sand and aquarium salt as soon as I can.

Ah! Wonderful! and you're very welcome! Crabs tend to eat whatever falls to the bottom or washes up on shore, but meat is a favorite! So I'm sure any fishy tidbits will keep him happy ^^

I saw live lobsters there once that I felt like adopting, but I think they were in a different section. Like the live turtles in the Chinese grocery store.

Pardon me for walking past the pet section and seeing these poor little crabs stuck in their cramped little containers with no food and improper living conditions and feeling sympathetic enough to purchase one, take it home, and pamper it.

Next time I'll just ignore them.
That'll show Walmart.

They see profit, not people rescuing them.

Same as anyone buying from Pet stores that sell puppies. They are all puppy mill dogs and even buying dog food there supports puppy mills. It's a vicious circle, a lose lose. :C
