Slowly but surely I've been chipping away at making these ref sheets for the player characters in the DnD5e game I've been running for the past 7 years. The party has all come a long way, but few have come farther than Felix, who is one of two party members to have died, but the only one to have come back. This is his original body, before he died in a way that didn't really leave a body to revivify, so the party had to find a sage to reincarnate him as a Tabaxi.
Felix would have been content to remain at home helping his family manage the forest and guide the townsfolk on how to responsibly log and farm the land, but his parents sent him away when he came of age to study with an enclave of druids out west. After refining his powers and deepening his connection to the natural world, he opted to wander for a while before returning home, seeking adventure. (Un)fortunately for him, he ran across a party of mercenaries needing a healer for a job that was supposed to be quick and easy, but has instead has shaken his youthful optimism to its core.
I didn't have a lot to go on designing this character, since Felix's player is one of the only of my friends who doesn't really draw much and had no reference material on hand. He gave me plenty to work with though for ideas: something kind of wasteland-ish while still being plausibly fantasy-inspired. We worked with the vibe of one of the Fallout: New Vegas armor sets, Link's new duds in Tears of the Kingdom, and some of the Warlock robes from Destiny 2. The lil guy in his hand is an item I created for the game that functions as a familiar, but is a little mechanical creature that folds up in your pocket instead of a spirit you summon and dismiss as needed.
