Went for a walk with the gal pal today. She pointed out this lil' critter who I'd almost stepped on. It didn't budge, even when I poked it with a stick - just flicked it's lil' tounge in and out.
I've tasted snakemeat, and it's OK. Wasn't in a hunter-killer mood, though, so I left the little meal alone. Besides, it's almost kinda cute.

Yep.
They are pretty common out west.
I've had many for pets over the years- they are so common, I never keep one more than a few months, feed them up, and let em go.
We had one on the family property when I was growing up that had an odd scar on his tail- saw him over and over again for quite a few years.
He got named Oscar- and seemed to like being handled.
Friendly snake- he was a serious shirt diver.
Would ride around in my shirt for hours- Happy as a clam with his head stuck up through the collar, looking around.
