That's because modern depictions tend to make them the same thing for some reason, lmao (possibly because of the shared weasel weakness and both being created similarly...basilisk is a snake egg incubated by a rooster and cockatrice is a rooster egg incubated by a snake...yes, a rooster egg lmao)
