because that's how it's pernounced in Japanese.
Echiu would be weird in japanese because Echi means something sexual.

he's very outgoing and loves taking little walks.
not only is he my smallest, but he's also the weakest. ;3; so he doesn't like fighting.
He's very Timid, cries a lot when threatened.
