I hope you all have had a lovely November, especially if you participate in the signature American holidays! The month was thankfully a calmer month for me.

Minecraft Modding

I sat down and created a plan and schedule to help me return to Minecraft modding. It had been nearly a year and a half since I last did any serious programming but thankfully, it all came back to me with ease.

“Kindred Legacy” for Minecraft 1.20 is expected to be under a different name: returning to the original “PokemonMD” name. It’s not a true Pokemon mod but with Pokemon as the common theme, I might as well state it up front. Because really, “Kindred Legacy” doesn’t speak much for the sort of mod it is.

Unlike the previous work for 1.15, I remember all the mistakes I made when I first started that version and will be avoided for 1.20. But it will make coding very slow to get anything done; yet it will all be done mostly right the first time.

Because I can only manage a few hours per week, I don’t expect to have anything presentable to the public for many months. Unlike 1.15, it is my intent to release Alpha versions to the public. The general public will finally get to play the modification for the first time since 1.12.

Taking Better Care of Self

November I spent more time taking care of my person, particularly mental health. I still work all the time but I’ve backed off on goals.

I’m been practicing something called Atomic Habits where you focus on your system/routine for the day rather than actual numerical goals. If you set up a good system, you’ll eventually get to you goal without having to track it. This keeps you from thinking yourself in a constant state of failure because you haven’t achieved your goals yet.

Since I started practicing this more intentionally, I’ve been a happier, more content person. I’m still busy af, but I don’t feel like I’m not accomplishing anything as frequently.

Encouraged by the Fanart Postings

I’ve felt incredibly encouraged by the community feedback and reactions to me implementing the popular media fanart pictures. It’s helped build up my confidence in my abilities and I thank you all so much for that!

Look forward to the monthly Patreon polls to pick a new one each month. I’m also seriously considering trying to come up with some time to do random ones; as I’d love to do more of Beelzebub from Helluva Boss in particular. I legit have a crush on her…
