The Dragons didn't pay in only material wealth. Masters in magic they were able to alter the physical form, and more so: alter it so that it would become a permanent trait of the species. So it was that the felines of Manti's Corps gained wings as well as porcupine like spines. However, as the Dragon's conquests continued Manti saw less and less of a place for his people in their vision. They were being tasked to do horrible things on a more and more regular basis with accompanying murmurs of unrest among his people. Little did he know it would not be nearly the clean break he was hoping for...
