Ezah is the winged minotaur lass, and Gix is the drow gentleman. It all started with a character idea for D&D, and her back story. Then the backstory for the backstory, plus back stories for some of the characters in her backstory. At that point I gave up and started working on the story with the idea the D&D character is only loosely related to the character in the story. Part way through that I realized that I'd been wrong about the main character and that realization stalled my writing. I finally pushed through that a bit recently, so I hope to be doing more work on that story in the near future.

Ezah was magically created by a powerful drow mage, and appeared in adult form. Of interesting note, she doesn't have nipples or a belly button. Gix served that mage as a slave ("pleasure servant") and was instructed to teach his master's new creation language and to ascertain her intelligence. Gix found himself falling in love, however. When Ezah was lost on the material plane due to a failed raid Gix spent a few years in indecision, but did leave to track her down. However, events on the material plane meant that Ezah had set off on an adventure to save the Dragon Gods. But they eventually meet up, and this image is somewhere along the path the took during that adventure.
Gix and Ezah share a deep emotional connection. He taught her that she wasn't just a mindless possession, and she taught him that even he was worthy of redemption.

The whole story is set on Zont, a world of my own creation. "Drow" is an old word for "dark elf" or "unseelie fae". While my drow are superficially similar to the drow of Forgotten Realms, there are many key differences. For instance drow on Zont live in the Shadow Plane, and most members of the race have ashen skin, grey hair, and grayish eyes. Gix is an unusual member of his species being that his skin is more silky, his hair is silvery, and his eyes are bright green. (There, I gave my "this isn't copyrighted/fan-fiction" disclaimer)
