No, this is not the MLP fanarts I was going to do. But this IS something I wanna do! All vectors and things in Photoshop so it looks just like the ones in the series.... :D
My plan is to print this and maybe another few cutiemarks for me on the sides of shorts and things. :D I have screenprinting capability, so I COULD get fabric paint, print this design out on transparencies, expose the screen, rinse, ink with it and boom, MLD cutiemark! :D This is a mark of my sole and water, prolly the two biggest or most recognizable things that uh... set me apart XD
PLEASE PLEASE gimme crits, I may redesign this thing as it looks... kinda unfinished. :p I know I could do better! Also I was thinking of maybe opening up for commissions and things to design cutiemarks for people, but... I dunno if that is infringing on the MLP franchise... I don't wanna break the law or worse, hurt such a fun and lighthearted series. So lemme know what you think :) It's a splash of water above, just to let you know--please tell me if it looks like water or not! @_@
....SQUEE fatfatfatfat chubbytoes and hugesole, the dimensions of the sole are actually closely based on the dimensions of my RL feet. Ain't no better reference than your own feets! So now you know what my feets are shaped like. :p
Also, the cutiemark is part of the franchise/product... points of recognition... I suppose, of the series My Little Pony, it's not my concept.

Aren't vector layers a beauty when trying to make something look kinda like from flash?
and it's a nice choice of colors, but don't you think the simplicity of the paw and the complexity of the uh.. paint swatch clashes a bit?(how it's outlines and highlighted, where the paw is just flat)
My vote would be to outline the paw and get rid of the highlights, and make the paint swatch a more saturated shade of cyan is my cote. but that's jsut me

Yahyah they are! Though, I kinda just stroked these, they're not even real layers. o: And yah, there is that clash, the paw just doesn't shine at all under water. That paint swatch thingy is supposed to be water, I guess I gotta make it look like water more. o3o
Thank you for telling me these things, I'l have to try it out to see. I hunted and hunted for the right color, I think I wanted a color that was both green and blue at the same time, without being cyanish. @_____X; oh what, a white dot?? Where >_o

It does to me! When I saw the picture, before reading the description, I figured out it was water. Took me an instant or two for that to click, so if you wanted to tweak it a bit maybe you could get it looking slightly more watery, but I still figured it out and got the idea. :)
And yes, that on a pair of shorts would be awesome. ^^

I think the emblem is looking good. I don't mind the paw having no outlines and the water being outlined since it makes both parts of the emblem look distinct from one another, but it might be a good idea to play around with the design and see what it would be like if the paw were outlined as Doraneirok suggested above, or maybe see what it would look like if there were no outlines at all.
Okie, thank you. :) This is going to be printed on shorts, and they may be dark shorts, so I may have to up the brightness on the paw. I may just outline with blue, fill with another blue, paw another brighter blue.... In any case I should use cool colors because the shorts will always be tan, warm color. Thanks for the thoughts cx
