Day two of the fleece-face projects after regular fursuit work. First proto-lump-face dog head was taken apart, and 'adjusted'. Adjusted means, of course, pitched into the great trash heap, as with 99% of trial n error stuff :D
Small 1/4" tweaks make huge differences in how the shapes pull and stretch against each other. It's a very new process, and I'm liking the whole learning curve a bunch :)
As always, numerous things to be improved upon at this early stage, but I like it so far, and can see myself making a few more of these :)
Applications for Burningman come readily to mind as a hot-weather costume, plus he comes with fairly unrestricted vision, so good for dark clubs and dances too.

Actually I would live to yap with you to in regards, as this is more in your realm of materials. I went with polarfleece, as it was the most manageable stretch (2way only) i would think a 4way material would be a bit harder to keep feom going all spherical. Using the non-stretch axis, I coild pull areas in , like the dog's nose stop, and the lower jaw to cheek transition.
Your donkey is fleece, no?

Very cool!
I've finally started hitting my own stride with woodwork, so I understand the feeling you get from a new medium. (I do leather-work). I see a lot of potential in these, the one you're modeling actually comes across as cute. (Instead of like the traditional leather masks which tend to intimidate.)
Very nice work, I can't wait to see how this evolves.
