Way back when I originally wanted to make a fursona, a bird was an option. I had been torn between making a crow or a raven before settling on a fox. Recently, playing Armored Core 6 made me want to explore the idea of making an alternate version of my sona. I don't want to replace Focket as a fox, rather I wanted to have a different variation of him just to experiment with. Needless to say, I am very happy with the end result.
