Hello.
Here is a (...rough...) idea for a color palette + a comparison to my earlier version of the man.
Some of my comments:
-He is noticeably shorter than he was, which is what I was intending! I am glad that his height different is apparent, in my opinion.
-Thank goodness that I improved his pose. Ew.
-Is it just me, or is his head too small...?
-I gave him some texture on his pants and boots for some interest. I hope that it looks coherent. It's just a Noise paintbrush with some gray to give that "dusty clay/dirt" look. On a similar note, I gave him some darkness around his eyes. I cannot decide yet on giving him just a lot of eyeshadow for the contrast of his bright wolfman eyes or straight-up giving him warpaint with a line across his eyes Viking-style. I don't think I will give him anything concrete like words, symbols, or letters (runes, etc.), though.
-I think that these colors work a lot better. Now, I was thinking of making his ranger uniform shirt Navy blue too. IDK, I kinda want to make his entire outfit Navy blue. This is going to make me look SO nerdy, but...do you know the UTAU singer, Rouon Aro?
...
...
no?
Well, he is this wolf man ("a wolf that is a man" not a "wolfman") whose design has this rly cool blue trenchcoat (?) with a painted-like bass symbol on the back.
Uh, this is to say that I think that that color scheme would be pleasing to the eye, and this man's light, blond hair would be an interesting contrast with the darkness of the blue.
-I like how his nose actually looks like a wolf's.
-I am unsure of the symbol/logo to use for my "park rangers that work with the water and can dive and other aquatic things." This one (full disclosure) is from RetroHurricane's character, Captain Brody Kahurangi. I find his character to be incredibly attractive, and his wetsuit/tight shirt is so flattering across his body.
...
Uh, *ahem* what I mean is that there are only so many variations of "wave-in-circle" that can be done for a logo design. If that is the case, then I will see what I can/must do to make it either more unique or fitting.
On that note, I want to see how to arrange all of the various symbols on his shirt and uniform in a better way. Do I need this wave logo to indicate that he works in/with water? Are (my) park rangers organized by natural features or jurisdiction? Are there even park rangers with diving certifications? Does that matter? They can be enforcers at a park, sure, but do they perform science? Education? Tours? Recreation?
If that is the case, then it might be important to make them indicate that they are assigned to oversee the waters.
Can that be done well in this abstract, logo-like symbol of waves, or would an actual metallic badge be better? Real life park rangers have the badge for the Department of the Interior, as the National Park Service is under its jurisdiction.
...
...
Well, no-one said that they have to be American. They don't even have to be from Earth. Or maybe it doesn't matter and I can design them how I want??? Uh???
...
Okay, let me do some searching.
Turns out that the National Park Service does indeed have park ranger divers! There are plenty of coastal or marine environments where diving is possible, so it makes complete sense. They manage things such as education, field trips, formal/informal presentations, live diving demonstrations (!), and classroom visits. In that case, why *can't* they be scientists? National parks are great areas for field study. I am assuming that park rangers can hold some sort of degree in the sciences or humanities too. And why not manage diving licenses on the side, or show guests what a day of diving/study looks like, or managing a local aquarium for the native fish species, or presenting something for a school's science class?
So many things.
...
...
...
Anyway, I hope that this looks okay???
