So here's the story. If anyone even reads it because it's contained under such a terrible picture.
I use to draw as a kid. I did all the time.
I got pretty good, like I won art shows and even had an acrylic painting I did of wolves in the Court House in an art show in my city in 8th grade (1998).
Well then I did drugs... bad ones.
They sucked the art out of me so fast.
I lost everything.
--
2005 I started drawing again.
This was the first picture I posted online.
--
I once was proud of my art and for so long I wasn't.
--
I am more proud of my art again now.
I spent so much time trying to get back to being as good as I once was.
I'm still not as good as I was in my early teens.
I will be though, I can see it now.
This picture sucked. You can make fun of it.
I'm only posting it to encourage myself and maybe others to keep drawing.
Don't do drugs.
I'll scrap this later.

Well hey, just remember: every artist has to crank out 1000 pieces of art they're not proud of, before they create one they *are* proud of. You've done just fine, hon. :)
So you had your setbacks - we all do! So long as you learned your lesson and know better now, then maybe we can say that your time doing drugs wasn't a waste of your time or talent. Now that you fully understand and appreciate what drugs can do to you, you're that much more passionate about their use, abuse and misuse, and can act as a beacon for those you see traveling down the same path. And as for your art? You're getting it back. I have the feeling you'll have that much more love for your work because of fact that you worked darn well hard to get where you are. Great job - keep up the good work. ^^

I do lend a lot of advice to people struggling with drugs that show signs they want to get clean. I point ways to help, things to do to occupy time and support when they need to cry because they have to learn to deal with emotions again. I only had my drug counselor and she was never an addict so she didn't really know what I was going through. It in my opinion helps having someone who's been through it listening and giving advice.
I love art, I love looking at it, creating it and talking about it. I was good as a teen but I was never this passionate about it.
