people know erik satie for his solo piano works (which are beautiful), but i adore his simple, understated vocal writing. he wrote lots of short pieces and this is the second movement from a three song cycle simply called 3 melodies. i arranged this one to include space for improvisation.

sophie is a lovely singer (not a fur... at least as far as i know!) i've come to know lately, and hope to work with here again in the near future!
