Once a year the family will find time to drop what they might have been doing and reunite, preparing their traditionally made mochi for the new year.
It is a family activity. It is a business to help support Hoshi while Rin and Tsukiko join to both pound and knead the dough, working like a well oiled machine. But more than that, it is a strange instinct. Hoshi enjoys doing it. Loves the time with her family, but part of her simply cannot resist, as though it is part of her genetic code.
A lovely piece finally fulfilling the last part of the puzzle that has been assembling in my mind ever since the start of this zodiac year. While I won't entirely forget them, this will be it for the moon buns for a little while~
