So I decided to throw a couple of ideas I had lying around to some good use. If I have all of these "races" around, why not plot their place in the stars?
All planet names are written in green, and the major races that live there are written in yellow.
And don't worry, race sheets are coming soon, because some text on a galaxy picture isn't that creative haha
_________________________________________________________________
Kol'Tsani - The birdlike Kantaro race lives in this lush jungle world. Large volcanoes tower on the north and south poles to this planet, and the lack of ice-caps keeps this planet very warm and perfect for large amounts of botanical life that need such high amounts of heat/humidity to thrive. Because they are so far into the void, seeing a Kantaro off of Kol'Tsani is a rare treat for all to enjoy.
Sh'iarrak - The draconian race of Theerans hail from this highly volcanic planet. Most of its surface is covered in sharp black shale, and the rest is by volcanoes and pools of boiling water. Some scientists believe that Sh'iarrak and Kol'Tsani were once one planet, but a cataclysmic strike from an orbiting body cracked a portion off the planet off, creating these two similar but different planets.
Old Onyx - Once the land of the proud lion-like species Olen, it is now turned a desolate wasteland by Ymir IPBMs. In its prime, Onyx was a small African savannah-esque planet that was hailed for its rich deposits of diamonds. Now all that's left is the dust and echoes of what once was...
Redphin - This area is not a planet, but a relay of star stations orbiting a massive M-Type asteroid. Haussii are deep-space travelers, merchants and story-tellers who prefer the pen over the sword. Redphin is a trading outpost surrounded by a large asteroid cluster called the Reddin Fields. Haussii pay for their expensive deep-space travel with minerals mined in asteroids. Did you know that a 1.2 mile wide asteroid contains upwards of $21 trillion dollars worth or iron-nickle metals?
Kozlov - A small backwater world where the Pluvians hail from. A constant storm of rain creates a dreary mood, but the Pluvians don't mind. Not much is known about this planet, as of now.
Pollox - This barren rock world is where the Raussen race come from. Since Raussen are generally looked down upon in Solaris, nobody has really looked into this planet. Unfortunately they are missing out on some of the most culturally diverse species out there. The planet's soil composition is mostly iron-rich smectite clays with a little silicone mixed in.
Delia - This planet is the most diverse from them all, and it exhibits the rare trait of mirror geography. To the north lies the large polar caps where the sub species of white delian can be found. Moving south one can get into the deciduous forest climate where the grey delians thrive. From there the Dark Marshes can be found, which is where black delians can be found. Even more south is the area of a Winding Desert that circles the equator. This is where "lucky" and "G Shep" delians can be found. Oddly enough the geography is an exact mirror in the north and south hemispheres.
Jaána-Telo - This planet is subject to harsh gamma radiation from space due to its thin atmosphere. Jaána-Telo is the home of the Kuabara race, and ugly and largely misunderstood race that wields the power of nature as their weapons or war. Becides Ymir, none is more feared than a Kuabara Assault Machine, doling out electric death. Since the planet is so poisonous with radiation, all races are to stay away from this area. All metals are poisonous as well, so Assault Machines have the added benefit of a crippling radioactive wake that radiates from them. Also because of this radiation, every generation of Kuabara receive different traits through mutated genes. This could be a very good thing, or a very bad thing.
Gemini Prime Relay - Quesar hail from these two planets. What was once one split and formed two new planets that circle each other via cross-gravitational force. Some call it a relay because of the notorious "Quesar Highway" through space; a wormhole that wealthy individuals can pay for that spits them out near the exotic world of Kol'Tsani. Quesar are known to enslave and eat other races, but no hard feelings, right? Also Quesar and Kuabara share a lot of similarities... hmm, could that just be a coincidence?
Artaxerxes - No probe has ventured far enough into the Center to see the planet Artaxerxes without being crushed to submission with the terrible force or gravity or suddenly going dark, but it is assumed that the strange and enigmatic race of Ymir live there. Nobody is sure how Ymir survive the crushing force of an entire galaxy's gravity, but somehow they survive and prosper. Ymir pose a serious threat to all life in the Solaris Galaxy, yet no one has devised a way to counter their superior technology. Rumor has it that the N.E.D 4 organization are awakening the Ancient Angles, and that's very, very bad news.

alright ^_^ and welcoem i love other sci-fi writers cuase my own book ( found here at
Sarges_Remorse) is a scifi id love some input if you ever feel like it and ill return the favor. right now im kinda trying to explain human starships.

I just read Sarge's Remorse Chapter 1 and was like wow that was pretty good :)
The end part was so anti-climactic haha, I loved it xD
One suggestion is to go deeper in describing what type of "beastial" creature she resembled; imagery is so helpful in sci-fi writing haha
Also designing space-ships is very difficult, because achieving FTL travel is near impossible lol
I just write it off as anti-matter generators that can initiate TFL travel.
If you're interested my brother is doing commissions if you need help with designs ect for your ships > http://zaetak.deviantart.com/

Well since the energy density of antimatter is vastly higher than conventional fuels, the thrust to weight equation for such craft would be very different from conventional spacecraft. It's four times more efficient than nuclear power and that means it will achieve FTL travel because of the sheer power. Too bad it costs about 62.5 trillion for a gram :/
also what I want to know is how "slip space" technology works hahaha
