Question: If the distance is so great they have time lag why didn't the creators just come up with something to negate the distance. They could have with the Dream Machine couldn't they? Or something to give them FLT drive. Or is that something I'm just not suppose to think about.

It's not anything they've really needed before, so they never bothered to do anything about inventing a better way. There's a lot of apathy in this scenario.

I've noticed. They seem to have this "Just do what ever you have to to get by" mentality. It makes for interesting situations when things demand more.
