Parri kind of has a point, though. Sometimes it's best to give people space to sort themselves out. Sometimes a kind gesture can set someone off, especially if they think that they aren't worth it. Sometimes cold honesty like Parri's is what a person in a funk really needs to hear.
After all, it's hard to trust the ones you love to be real with you, because you feel like they're saying it because they have to/because of societal convention, not cause they actually want to.
