Developed as an even cheaper and lighter version of the the standard TIE/ln Fighter, considered a deathtrap by many pilots due to the barest of features and flimsy construction. The TIE Light was often used as the starter craft of pilots recruited from previously hostile worlds, drafted by order of the Emperor, or just considered flight risks. The TIE Light was armed though only with a pair of light lasers that would have difficulty in shooting down a Y-Wing in a straight up fight, the sole thing the TIE Light had in spades was it's manoeuvrability and agility.
