Now then - an explanation. Fencing has long been one of my passions. Recently, after about twenty years, I went back to it. At first I was a stranger, welcomed to the club. Then one night, I was introduced to my first student. She is older than I am, and I greatly admire her courage in wanting to learn the game. Last Wednesday, I was surprised again by three more students.
Of course I merged both of my passions, and things began to click.
If you are not interested in the sport, no worries on not reading. I more wanted a little feedback than anything else. I have long believed in teaching through story form and humor. It's less dry and can help spread the love you have for something.
If you have any questions, I would be glad in trying to answer them.

I found a battered epee in a sporting goods shop back around 1990, and built one of these for a friend:

Like so many things in life, there is much more to fencing than I ever imagined. Any activity that can be taken to a professional level will force its participants to open their minds and take in the magnitude of what's on display. That's why I like learning things like this. Even if I don't have a passion for the subject, I still enjoy learning the fascinating details of how it's done by those who know best.
