A pair of rookie adventurers getting dressed for their first dungeon crawl. Probably not as equipped as they should be, but most people don't go adventuring when they have plenty of money.
Lady on the left is a Dwarf. On the right, a Half-Foot.
A Half-Foot is just what I like to call Halflings in my Dwarf-centeric little fantasy world. Why? Mostly to not risk having WoTC breathing down my neck if I go out and make my own fantasy verse. But also, cause I read Dungeon Meshi and that's their word for Halflings. (Much like how Humans are called Tallfolk - they're not giants, just when compared to Elves, Dwarfs, and Half-Foots, they're the tallest humanoid.) So, my Half-Foots are short - on average, shorter than Dwarfs, have slightly pointed ears, and have tails.
Why tails?
Cause it helps them stand out more than big, hairy feet.
And let's be real: when was the last time you played D&D with a Halfling that didn't wear shoes or boots? They're based on Tolkein's Hobbits, yet it's such a rarely talked about or mentioned trait and it's, really, the only thing that makes them biologically unique to the other Humanoids.
(For real, if I were to play with other people, I'd just make my Halfling a Halfling. This is purely for my own work that's not tied to anyone else.)
