Why crush only one landscape per step when you can flatten half a dozen instead?
Erika's up to her old tricks again, smashing things under her paws is what she does best! I still absolutely love drawing both her and her room.

I love how fleshed out not only Erika is, but also her room. Its always neat to see all the nick nacks and posters and stuff and the various angles you use of the room in different photos. Its a nice attention to detail, though thats one of the reason I love your art is the attention to details!
Thanks! I really enjoy seeing characters' rooms or houses as they can be an extension of the character themselves. Erika's room is definitely a place where she expresses herself. It's also fun to throw references to older pictures in the room which makes sense as it's where all her stuff is
I'll focus on the background details first. I like all the posters and dimensions of Erika's room including what looks like a lava lamp now or her equivalent of 1.
I didn't think I've ever seen the light fixture on the ceiling either considering it would be at least twice her height.
The objects there look quite interesting including what looks like a pseudo terraformed moon there. And it would definitely serve as an actual habitable area as well assuming she isn't about to destroy it, which she probably is.
And I bet that spaceship isn't a model. It was probably patterned off the ship those micros that she gets to help with her homework made.
Lastly, there's the matter of Erika herself. Stomping her own Petri dishes is quite creative of her, and if she ever found lines of work around what she likes to she would be a lot more enthusiastic. She's got a great pose doing this, and I like how that glass is just shattering beneath her. Her culture 's glass is probably much stronger which shows her sheer power because she would know how to stomp in exactly the right way to get what she wanted.
I like the way her hair is flowing along with her clothes and the trademark smirk she has. She's having fun and she knows it!
Lastly, what is that broken barren world leaking out of it? That doesn't look like magma t to me.

Hi thanks for the lengthy comment!
The posters and such in Erika's room are always a fun recurring theme. It's a nice thing to be able to reuse the posters, as well as update or replace them over time. This one here was the first appearance of the New Naridyn poster right there. I haven't drawn it yet as it's off camera, but i figure she's got an Old Naridyn poster on the other side.
The spaceship model is the Naridynian design used to carry lots of people. it's what they were using when on their original planet. This is probably an upscaled model the real thing.
Yeah. These could have been petri dishes she sampled herself or perhaps they're rejected samples from August's lab. Either way Erika's having fun with them now.
It is just magma coming from the moon. it may have just been punted by Erika. Whoops!

You're welcome. And I hope you don't mind.
I didn't remember that the Naridynian had gone to a new planet or updated their own. Maybe I should reread that old story. It's nice to think about the implications though.
Although knowing the both the extreme sizes and the abilities of both the Naridynian & Araltian tech , that is actually a space worthy model or at least could be fitted up as one as a massive capital ship. That's cool to imagine and something that August might actually be OK with if it was presented to her in the right way.
Rejected sample sound more fun, although knowing her they're probably still inhabited. I also like how the views of anyone in the lower dishes would be able to see the upper one shattering and have to be careful of the enormous amount of glass. If there's light coming in it would catch a lot of it and create rainbows as well which is cool to imagine.
True, but the magma seems to be white. Is there a reason for that? That makes me wonder if Araltians see a different colour spectrum from other people or at least they can via technology. That could lead to a lot of interesting implications and scenarios. Or maybe Erika just stepped on it hard enough to heat it up to white hot instead of red hot.

Oh goodness not at all, your lengthy comments are wonderful. It's nice you have an interest in my characters and lore.
In the story the Naridynians' original planet was scotched and ruined even before Erika got there, and after a little bit of mishap, she helped escort them to another planet which they called New Naridyn.
Given the scale of the ship in the following picture https://www.furaffinity.net/view/47190255/ what she has there is almost certainly a scale model... Only not a scaled down model, it's scaled up. August deals with the terraforming and communications with alien species on a daily basis. Erika here is certainly not following Araltian procedure! So it's best she just keeps hush about it at least for now.
And it would be fun to imagine different species in each of the petri dishes and the views they'd get. Heck entire macros or megamacros could even be in those and be practically invisible at these scales.
The lava pouring from the moon is white hot, and while it does have an orange glow, a lot of that may have been lost in that is downsampling and any effects i added to make the room seem a bit more purple.

Thank you. I'm glad you don't mind longer comments.
I remember that part, they thought she was a goddess of theirs and she corrected them after the confusion was cleared up. They then stayed with her on the way by putting their ships in her paws.
True, but I was just saying in a more formalised context that that ship could probably be rigged up to be space worthy even though it's a scale model. It being scaled up helps. Although she'd get in big trouble if that was ever discovered as anything except a scale model.
I love that sort of size stacking, heck, you've done it with your own OC's before. Not to mention that it's funny to imagine size tiering like in "beyond Pawception." I think it would be funny if Araltians were covered in microscopic human size or smaller. Honestly makes me wonder how Eleve would react to that eventuality.
As for the Petri dish on the top, this would probably be something like the view from inside: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/27023410/ [ poor Vapor]
The lava being white hot is quite clever even if I didn't get it at that point. The sheer kinetic energy delivered by Erika's stomp would probably do that.

Indeed they are, especially since you're a relatively well known artist among the macro full slash micro fandom and you have macros of a lot of different sizes as well as being willing to draw many other people's in your style. That gives you a lot of versatility.
That reminds me of the story in which Erika came to Earth and Vapor scared the bejeebers out of her by growing to Erika's size via water absorption and getting her to put them all back if I remember correctly.

Yeah, It can be tricky as often people don't like seeing their characters bigger or smaller than other people's characters so it can still take an awful lot of planning.
That story was written by VDO and was called Planetary Sciences. That is an accurate description of what happened in it!

I can see why since macro/ micro content is often a fantasy about either having power or lack of it. It's still nice to see though.
I do remember that none of them would have been able to speak Erika's language, but I don't think that was important for Vapor since Erika was freaked out anyway. Makes me wonder how that story might play out differently if it was written today? Your characters are bound to have gone through some development since then.

There's a lot of things that are now "inaccurate" in that story by these days standards, but the concept and the general gist of it remains something that could potentially happen.
As for translations and such. Erika's gravlets can detect, learn and unscramble alien language, which Erika can then use to reply in their language with a voice piece headset thing which is stored inside the gravlet itself.

I'm curious as to what would change then?
i didn't know she could do that, I would be interested in seeing what the headset looks like when she's wearing it? It does make sense that that would be a thing though due to the frequent first contact that Araltians often are for smaller species.
