My attempt at this week's Thursday Prompt. This week, the word for the prompt was "underneath".
As always, please be sure to check
ThursdayPrompt for more.
So unfair... got home yesterday and my internet was out. Was left a little disappointed since I couldn't upload and thus failed my Thursday night goal again.
Anyways, honestly, not too sure where I was going with this one so don't expect much *nervous laugh*. I think I'm starting to feel a bit burnt out what with work and trying to do my own thing. Fortunately, I get the Thanksgiving week off for... I don't really know, but I get a week of nothing but relaxing time now... I'm already going stir crazy with nothing to do...

My thoughts while drafting this one up was the artist relived a trauma and was determined to prevent a repeat but that didn't work out at all *nervous laugh*. That said, I'm glad you managed to gather something from this one.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read through this one. This one wasn't any good at all, so I really appreciate you reading it.

Ok, interesting. I just saw your comment above as I was about to write this. Personally, I got the feeling of an artist so engrossed in their work that they become entirely consumed by it. So much so that the art is able to transport themselves from their own reality and into the picture itself to create such beauty. The picture itself being an extra light in the darkness of the storm.
In a sense, I think that is what I was going for, just too bad I didn't really play that up well in this one. I had other ideas and now I'm kind of thinking maybe I should go back and try again as I'm not too happy with how this one turned out.
Despite it's flaws, thank you much for taking a moment to read over it, much appreciated.

I'm honestly thrilled to hear what you gathered from this one; despite it's flaws, that was essentially what I was going for. I was worried that maybe none of that came across too well.
I'm grateful you'd take the time to look this one over, it's very much appreciated.

I don't know why you were worried about this one, I see people have different interpretations but it seemed to me the story of someone who had a trauma as a small boy and was determined to make sure something similar wouldn't happen again so he became a lighthouse keeper?
"I'm already going stir crazy with nothing to do..." - you have an entire internet and a wide open world out there, there's always something you can get up to ;)

I appreciate you saying so; truth be told, your interpretation was precisely what I had been thinking all the while as I was drafting it up. I was just worried I got a bit lost along the way and it wouldn't come out quite right.
You have a point. *Sits down at laptop and stares intently at monitor, fingers on keys yet motionless.* Trying to refocus on writing. It'll come to me... eventually...

A nice story! I see that there are various interpretations of it, haha. I think it's amazing to be honest. :P
So... to me it was about someone having trauma and experiencing the memories again due to being close to something that made them recall it, which was the sea. Or just being alone with their thoughts made them recall that.
They then at the end of reliving it again they had a thought that it kind of won't happen again with the thought about light. It seems like they might work as a lighthouse keeper and the accident at sea from their past was connected to lack of light from the lighthouse... or perhaps not really and they just wanted to ensure safety at sea as much they could.
Well, overall I liked it. I hope they will find enough peace to draw something without breaking down in the process. Oh, and regarding a previous comment you sent me something like 3 days ago... I like reading your stories and I'm doing it on my own volition, really. :P They are nice.

I'm very grateful you'd say you thought this one went well, thank you much for that. Your interpretation is entirely what I was going for, I just keep re-reading over this one and thinking I didn't really manage it as well as I could have if I had just put a bit more time and thought into it. Nevertheless, I'm glad you'd look it over despite my own issues with it.
Thank you for reading. I never think much of what I do, so you stopping by every so often simply to read one or two is very much appreciated. You're very kind to say that the stories I write are nice, so thank you much for that as well.
