7 years old... Is how old my current computer is right now...
The only upgrade I managed on this was 1GB of RAM, but that's it!
So! My old geezer will be soon retire his position and pass on the desk space for my MONSTER computer XD
Current specs:
Intel Celeron 2.80GHz
1.5GB of RAM
80GB of HD space
CD/CD-RW drive
450 watts of power supply (bought about a couple years ago)
AsRock Motherboard
As you can see... I can barely run photoshop with this thing XD I'm even lucky to even PLAY games on this! Ha! But luckily, this old geezer can do the job sometimes, but most of the times, he frustrates me >.=.<
Oh well... but in all... I loved having this computer! It was the best $300 I spent that kept on going! I had fond memories and many battles of viruses and horrible destructions of evil spywares and nasty stuff in it! But alas... you have been so good, yet you can't function like you used to... I'm sorry T.=.T
But now... My build is almost complete... 3 parts MINIMUM is required for me to assemble my monster!! BWA HAHAHAHAHAHA!! (specs and pictures of my build will be posted later)

by the stats of what you've listed here, That thing is better then what i'm using right now.
My system runs at:
2Ghz, has 384 Megs of ram, a 35Gig main hard disk with a 250gig as slave (sitting where the floppy drive once was)
It has a measly 80 Watt power supply that i can't replace due to it not following a standard form factor, and a board that wont fit in a standard case. It's a Dell Optiplex GX60 that once worked as an office machine. It runs winXP pro.
The video card is a Visiontek 9250, A Generic ATI chipped card. AND, I had to re-cap the motherboard since it had a pair of leaky caps too.
Sure it won't run Crysis, But it will run San Andreas, And even Half-Life 2 :P
Total cost of my system thus far:
Mouse: $20
Mousepad $1
2 new capacitors for my motherboard: $3
Monitor, Keyboard, Cords, PC, Speakers, Desk, Chair, Lamp, Guitar amp, Spare parts, and cards: $0
But speaking of old computers: There's a IBM XT sitting in my closet that was built before i was born, somewhere around 1984. It has a meg of ram, 25 megs of MFM hard disk space, And a whole heap of DOS CGA games, To this day it boots clean. and i'll whoop anybody's ass at a game of Centipede or Marble Madness on it :P I got it free too. And it is pretty much a museum peice.
People just toss out old hardware, it either ends up in a landfill forever, HOPEFULLY gets sent to a recycling center, or someone like me comes and intercepts it from your curb and takes it home, Cleans it, takes it apart, and builds something new with it. There will always be someone who has a use for whatever one thinks is outdated. :P

I never really do compete with older computers, but I never really been able to upgrade alot on this computer. The first time I had this, this was at it's bare minimum to run... literally. I never needed to replace parts nor had to purchase anything more (I upgraded 1GB of RAM) so I could run things much quicker.
However, due to the fact that THIS was my very first owned computer and that I still have it taken care of well (about 2 years without an OS) and I had to battle out viruses and spywares like no tomorrow, I consider myself quite proud that I can handle quite alot with just this 7 year old coot XD
The parts themselves even allowed me to run VERY limited games in 3D. However, it tends to crash from time to time after a while, so I can't really play them very well. This computer of mine has been through hell and back and due to the fact that I have a Windows XP pro installed on this and sharing it with my family, I do like it as a recreational computer to make purchases or browse through the net rather decent.
In all, I hafta say that I did enjoyed having this computer for this long! I loved having this old coot =P This old bastard has made it worth 7 years of my life happily =)

Did i mention i can run Quake 3 at 120Fps? :) Sure these old machines have outlived their usefulness. But they make great old-school gaming machines. Better then a newer computer in some cases. since you can use hardware that was meant to be run with games of that vintage.
If anything, i only ask you don't toss it on your curb for the trash man, give it to someone less fortunate or at least recycle it...
Remember to wipe it clean though. Or keep it as a spare. Like the Pentium 3 Compaq i got sitting under this machine. Its a life saver in those instances where your main computer just up and dies one afternoon. even if it runs at the speed of a slug with a dropped anchor.
