Though now I turn away from you
You will not leave my mind.
I’ll keep you here-
Beside me.
A favor
Returned in kind.
For while you could not see it
I was never far behind.
I watched you grow,
Remained in hiding.
My shape not yet defined.
Now I stand before you
Waiting
As you try to find
The will to turn-
To join me,
As was your design.
Or has this been forgotten?
The plan.
Your will to follow through.
I see now-
No movement.
What do you intend to do?
Have all my pleas been silent?
Whispers in your ear too few?
No, this isn’t it.
I tried.
You want to be one
Not two…
You’ve allowed me to exist
Away from pain I never knew.
I will not soon forget
Though now
I turn away from you.

I wasn’t sure what to write for this one, or whether to write at all and just let the art speak for itself. Which I feel it was perfectly capable of doing. However, I landed on this. A poem.
My apologies to the readers who don’t use English as a native language. I feel bad the few times I post poems as I know it can be lost in translation. Thank you for viewing my gallery and sorry if the poem doesn’t make much sense translated. I will tell you that it is about severing ties with your past self and moving forward.
I won’t go into every little detail here, but this piece was very important to me. It’s a representation of my growth over the past couple of years and coming to terms with who I am. I have a lot of growing to do, but I’ve also come a long way.
As for cool little details in the art: the blue snakes are actually from a recurring nightmare I have when I’m feeling more anxiety than usual. It’s actually been a long time since I’ve had this nightmare. Yay! But as you can see, they are still there to remind me of who I was. Dragonflies can symbolize self realization, self-growth, change, and many other things.
Anyway, on to the good part!
The art came out perfectly! It is everything I had hoped for and more thanks to the skill, dedication, and efforts of one of my favorite artists:
SIMARGLARTIST!! I’ve rolled the idea around for a while and parts of it changed in my head, but I knew from the very beginning that I wanted THIS artist for it. No question.
I’ve commissioned them a few times now and I’m a patron on their Patreon(Which I highly recommend joining). And I love every single piece they do! For me and for everyone else! Please hop over to their page and show them all your support!
Seriously, go!
