I wouldn't waste time with the photshopping-in-a-background thing as it tends to look a bit tacky (Wookiee's one of few who seem to pull it off, but not many others)
Then again, I prefer greyscale to all other mediums, so I'm probably a bad person to take advice from here ;)

I haven't seen too much of Wookiee's art. For some reason, I tend to know more obscure furry artists than the famous ones, but I should take a look!
Of course, I love grayscale as well... but doing it is only a stylistic *choice* if you don't have to choose it. And colour can do a lot of emotional things that grayscale never can :).

It turned out really beautiful, Shade. Congrats! Don't worry about the coloring, you'll learn that in time. After all, it's just photoshop technique, and it's not so difficult to learn (from what I know). The difficult thing is to achieve a picture as good as this one to work with it later!
Haha! That's probably true! I never thought of it that way. I mean, learning Photoshop is pretty hard for me since I don't have many techniques down and I don't have that painter mindset for colouring that seems to help so much. But it couldn't possibly be harder than learning to draw, could it?
