Not to be confused with the 'Great Knife' used by Pyramid Head.
Was listening to some emo music (Three Days Grace -- World So Cold) while watching Naruto Shippuden last night. Am I the only one that adored Zabuza? I still think he was the best villian they've come across, then again maybe I worship him because of his sword...
Anyhow the Grande Knife was based of several anime and video games swords here and there and i've always liked fantasy swords that had the hand guard as part of the body of the sword rather than part of the handle itself. The Grande Knife has a fuller/blood groove that I've recently learned has nothing to do with draining the blood from an victim or whatever, the blood groove/fuller actually acts as a double spine making the sword lighter, sturdier, and is possibly decorative.
The Handle of the Grande Knife is roughly 3 to 3 1/2 hand lengths in length, the blade is pretty much an oversized one sided long sword. I know the bolting of the handle to the blade likely isn't sufficent enough to keep it and the blade attached together but heck if i care, its a fantasy sword. For all anyone knows it could grant the wielder some random off the wall power, curse, or w/e.
Anyhow, got bored, was a bit emo, decided to compile some of my favorite fantasy, anime, and game blades into a single sword. The name isn't all that original, couldn't think of anything witty or creative so for now its just known as 'Grande Knife.'
Modeled in Google Sketchup 7.
PS. STILL working out the kinks on some of my other models i've been promising to post for several weeks.
Enjoy~
