A hybrid of Gold metallic and Black Chromatic dragons, Epiales is a rarity among dragon kind able to speak with and manipulate creatures through their dreams, his lands namesake, the swamps of ill dreams, are a testament to the havoc he causes. His powerful magic over the centuries has warped the land into a twisted nightmare landscape which in turn has attracted many sinister creature that preys on the the sleeping and those that roam the land should be wary of coming to levels of exhaustion without some kind of mind shielding item or spell.

He can speak most languages and can shape-shift in the planes of dreams, usually to a thing that a creature fears most, if he can get his claws into a humanoids delicious psyche he can puppeteer them into doing his bidding, he does this with most of the monsters that roam his marshes also so much so that a lot of the flora and fauna have taken on some of his traits and appearances usually sporting multiple eyes and tendril's or black and gold colouring.

He currently lairs in a deep submerged cave system beneath the swamps centre, surrounded by a thick fog but centuries ago he lived to the north in a temple built by the Snakefolk Yuan-ti to their goddess of dream devouring Dender, they believed him to be an embodiment of her, but that all came to an end when the vampire dragoness Thalaseima took over the temple and promptly ate most of the Yu-anti. She often sends members of her Lizardfolk tribe, as well as various other undead to bother him and constantly try's to trick him into meeting her. Their to and frow squabble over the north of the swamp has been going on for what seems like a lifetime, it's the one subject that can get him to listen to you if you have no other escape method.
