Weasels can cry. <<Spoiler Warning: The Dun Cow/Book of Sorr
Two separate sketches from Walter Wangerin's 'The Book of Sorrows'. Anyone else read this? It's the sequel to The Dun Cow, and it's living up to its name. I'm not done with it yet, so don't tell me how it ends.
A badly injured John Wesley Weasel tries to guard the female coyote cubs Twill and Hopsacking, but he can't guard them from seeing the vile event that takes place before their eyes.
Chauntecleer the Rooster obtains the decomposing skull of Mundo Cani Dog. This scene wasn't actually in the book, but it would have happened right after Chauntecleer's rampage outside the underworld entrance.

Yay, someone who actually knows these characters! There was indeed a sequel to it, more like a 'volume 2'. It picks up right where the Book of the Dun Cow leaves off. I think it's a bit more intense.
I got these books from a good friend about a year ago, he'd had them since high school. I'd personally never even heard of the author or the books until he gave them to me. I just looked on Amazon and they DO have it. If you liked the first one, you'll certainly like this one.

I ixquicked the name, and found it a chapter in Mark E. Rodgers Samurai Cat books. link here.

if you haven't heard of the Samurai Cat, go find the books. they are full of screaming laughter. it's satire of existing storys.
Star wars, lovecraft, tolkien, conan, and even asgard itself get sent up... funny and worth reading.

Ah ha!! The author is Mark E. Rogers. He wrote a book called the Adventures of Samurai Cat, and the Book of the Dunwich Cow is one of the stories.
