These are made from leather and deer rawhide. I came up with the design, inspired by both native war shields and drums. This is a more decorative piece, a spirit shield - not to be used in battle but to be kept in the home. My idea is, that with the totem glyphs painted upon them, they are a sort of talisman, or shield against negative or destructive spiritual energy - a sort of way you can bring a totem creature into your home.
