In this drawing I would like to show an alternative version of the scene with a trap for Simba.
During his time in the pride, Kovu managed to recruit Kiara. At its core, Kiara is very young and it is good to manipulate her. She is naive and, having met Zira, believed her. The princess was told that her father had taken over the throne by deception and force, and he would never allow her to be with Kovu. In the original cartoon, it seemed to me that Kovu, whom Zira had been preparing for so long, changed his mind too easily and quickly after talking with Simba about the Scar. I got the feeling that Kovu initially never believed his mother, once he heard another version about the Scar, he changed his beliefs so quickly. Considering that Kovu was originally taught to be more cunning and insidious, in my opinion it was much easier to recruit Kiara and brainwash her. After all, love does not always make everyone kind and unites, it can cause an irresistible desire to "remove" all obstacles from the path, even the father.
