Original Species: Blue Buck (remake)
The Blue Buck is a species of fairly big antelope native to the grasslands of Arcadia. Both males and females are easily recognized by their long, curved horns and bright blue fur on their backs. The exact purpose of the blue coloration isn't fully understood, but it has been noted, that said blue fur has slight light-reflectin properties which may serve to daze attacking predators once the sunlight shines at the right angle.
In recent times, this theory may have found some degree of confirmation as individuals of this species have been affected by energies coming from the Fae Realm. Said individuals have a more pronounced blue patch on their backs and have exhibited an ability to send energy through their fur in order to send out a bright flash of light. On one occasion, a herd of Blue Bucks was seen being attacked by a wyvern, to which a Fae-affected individual flashed the attacking reptile and caused it to fall to the ground dazed and confused. In turn, that allowed the herd to flee safely without suffering any losses.
Blue Bucks live in small herds with a dominant male, a few of his females, and their offspring. Baby Blue Bucks are actually born with a yellow and orange coat which allows them to better hide in tall, dried grass. As they mature, their fur steadily darkens and takes on a more bluish hue.
If left unprovoked, they are very unlikely to attack people. They are more likely to ignore a passing humanoid rather than turn hostile... yet it is still advised for civilians not to approach these animals; at the end of the day, they are still wild animals.
