Cyberware
So for a futuristic Space Universe what happens when somebody suffers let's say an unforeseen accident or get injured in the field. Well that's when cyberware comes into play. Cyberware is the advanced version of Prosthetics they enhance the once failed limb or missing limb to a higher degree. These can be from making you run faster, lift heavier objects, see farther or even hear better. cyberware is a process that should not be taken lightly though there's always an inherent risk sometimes a limb might reject the technology. It doesn't happen often but it does happen and you also have to go through vigorous Rehabilitation to get used to your new body parts.
Although cyberware is not cheap being a hot commodity sometimes cyberware can cost into the thousands of credits. thankfully there are many programs to help wounded soldiers, officers and important individuals those that your local government deem invaluable. Now that does not mean that cyberware is not available for everyone simple prosthetic limbs are very easy to have and a lot cheaper it's those with the more advanced function that cost more. these are usually those that have inbuilt secondary functions that are made to be sturdier or to give you an advantage. Take the Cr-1 Argos model here it has an inboard hard Light projector that can create a shield. Perfect to stop would be attackers from catching you off guard. These limbs can be designed to look very mechanical to organic to completely englishable from synthetic flesh it just depends on how much you're willing to spend.
