Description: A sad looking green sea monster man. He rests his cheek on one clawed hand with a lit pipe dangling from his fingers. Exhaling a plume of smoke from his lips, he is looking away from the shape of a smiling woman with curly hair that tangles in the wisps which form her. The man has thick drooping tentacles instead of hair, a beard, and a mustache. He wears a tattered fish scale bandanna pierced with earrings and beads. His tentacle mustache and beard are tied loosely in place with tattered seaweed wrappings, another of which is around his wrist. A few of his head tentacles sport gold hoops and cloth tied to them. His eyes have sideways slit pupils, pale irises resting in black sclera.

Kind of reminds me of Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean, :-P
But this is some powerful imagery where, with the cool colors and everything. I know blue is more associated with sadness than green (that's usually envy, at least in my country), but here it also gives a feeling of stagnation or sickness... death. Very nice.

Oh yeah that was a thing huh? I forgot all about those movies haha.
Thank you! You caught on to things I wasn't even thinking about haha, but they are very much there in Mr. Ocean's story. He's been sick and lonely for a really long time, poor guy, and he is near the end of his very long life. If you get a chance I highly recommend reading the series. :)

I'm not familiar with looming gaia, so likely the story will go over my head. I used to like fanfiction, though I haven't read it in a while. Back when I stopped due to lack of time Fanfiction net was still a relatively respected site. Perhaps this will be the springboard to go back to reading it.
