I was inspired to add a circus scene by a performance of "Kalabante: Afrika en Cirque" that my husband and I went to see earlier this year. There were musicians, drummers, singers, tumblers, acrobats, a cheerful contortionist, all woven together with the theme of "a day in the life of an African village." We were mesmerized.
