A big drawing that took me way too long to make, totaling about 62 hours working over 5 weeks because I have a skill issue, but I think it was worth it. It was fun to make, and while nobody other than my friend circle probably has any idea what's going on, I wanted to post it anyway since I put so much effort into it. You can ask about stuff if you want, I love rambling about my characters.
And yeah, I'm not doing only nsfw. There will be more of it, so don't worry, but I will be mixing in random stuff as well here and there like this big bad beast. And hopefully those future drawings won't take so damn long to make that they cause me to effectively go on hiatus. Whoops :3

I’d say it’s more panels depicting significant moments of their lives, not necessarily events happening in parallel. All of these dragons are tied together in different ways, caught in a turbulent story that started with the ancient contraption at the very center.
I’ve thought about this story a lot haha. I just wish I had the ability to see through writing it

Aye, that description would fit Eos pretty well. In all honesty, I haven't thought about this project in a good while. It sure doesn't feel like 10 months since I posted this. Looking back on my notes for it these days is making it feel increasingly corny in hindsight, but I still like it. I'll try to sum up her bio, but I can't make any promises of brevity haha.
Eos (75%/25% Sea/Ice respectively) used to be affiliated with the folks in the topmost section, particularly Sylva and Alder (the RainWing and Leaf/Sky, respectively). She was once a fairly timid dragon who was merely an aide to the pair of up-and-coming inventors, but she ended up getting her psyche subtly tampered with by a malicious artifact she uncovered during an excavation at which the group discovered other, more benevolent relics. One of the most important parts of their haul, an ancient prototype forge created and driven by magic left behind by a long-dead animus artificer (pictured in the center), was stolen by her two years later before she swiftly fled. Now the sole owner of the forge--the only thing capable of producing the extremely valuable and powerful alloy dubbed animite that had formed the backbone of the two inventors' success--she's free to place the dangerously potent resource into the claws of anyone. For the right price, of course. And with the aid of some helpful whispers from the artifact that messed with her to begin with, she's been able to stay two steps ahead of everyone hunting her, whether they be the twin inventor's sentries or other, more shady parties. In the scene itself, she's performing a literal back-alley deal regarding some samples of the exotic metal, each marked with the stamp and serial of Steel Spire, the twin inventors' forging enterprise. Whether that pouch's contents be gold or gems or something else, it represents a significant sum if it intends to be traded for such a large portion of the metal.

Fascinating really, do you ever plan on writing a more expansive story involving these characters? I find this other-worldly animus forge to be quite interesting as well, I would love to see a WOF story that combined elements of animus magic and industrial technology.
I'm unsure if you've ever heard of the original Thief games at all, but the stories in those games tie magic and freaky-advanced Victorian technology together in a unique way. Your writing here very much reminds me of that, which I think is really neat. I hope you end up using these characters in the future, I'd love to read about em. :)
(sorry for the long winded response, I just thought your character synopsis was cool)

It’s funny, honestly. I was about to type out and send this long-winded message saying that I probably won’t be writing anything for this given I’ve moved onto a different project surrounding an original setting of mine, but on second thought, I might not even be as absolute about leaving this behind as I thought. My motivation to write and draw has dried up pretty severely over the course of my summer, but maybe mixing in something new—or in this case, old enough to still be refreshing—could help with that.
Basically, this is a long-winded way of saying I can’t make any promises, but maybe. Which is more than I could say before. It certainly helps a lot knowing there are folks out there who are actually interested in my stuff. I do have a few basic chapter outlines for the start already at my disposal, at the very least, so maybe I’ll at least do those.
In the mean time, if you have any other questions, I’d be happy to lore dump some more. Although perhaps more sparingly now, given I might not want to spoil too much about a potential upcoming work

I certainly understand losing the motivation for some things (been there many times), though it's good to hear you may not *completely* leave your work here behind. For the sake of not having this reply thread run forever, I'll ask two quick questions for fun, then I'll stop bugging ya.
1. What is the time period of your story? At least in comparison to WOF
2. Who is the guard in armor at the very top?
(Thank you for replying to my questions by the way, I enjoyed learning about your goobers!)

It’s my pleasure, really. I don’t get too many comments, let alone ones with enough substance to respond to in detail (even though I promise the small ones mean a lot too!), so I like to savor it. But also, yeah, this is probably dragging on. I’m the one in charge of my comment sections, but even I think this is getting a little silly. I’ll be relatively brief.
This future AU (I guess the most apt term for it) starts just about exactly 40 years after the end of arc 1. The 20 years of the SandWing successon war ends at about 5,011 AS, followed by 5 years of peace from 5,011 to 5,016. Then a war between the two continents rages for 10 more years from 5,016 to 5,026. After another 25 years of peace from 5,026 to 5,051, Vanguards (this storyline) begins for real. From there it plays out over the course of several years throughout the 50’s.
As for the hulking MudWing covered in plates and chainmail, that’s Batholith. She’s the oldest character on display here by a good margin and she has seen a lot. Initially, she served the MudWings as an officer in their army, but her unique… flavor of warfare was deemed excessive and she was discharged about halfway through the intercontinental war. Not wanting her unique talents to go to waste, she turned to mercenary work where she has been thriving ever since. As just about the deadliest and more notorious soldier-for-hire that money can buy, she was exactly what the twin inventors needed when looking for an intimidating bodyguard became a priority as things started to heat up around them. She mostly just serves as an extension of the twin inventors’ will at the moment, with a side job that is simply scaring the ever-loving shit out of anyone who might want to hurt them, but who knows what she might get up to in the future. Especially if, as the influence of the twin inventors and their enterprise Steel Spire grows, she finds herself in command of a squadron of her own once again.
