A nervous minotaur girl by the name Suu wandered her nearby grocery store just praying no one asked if they could eat her. She reached for a jar of mayonnaise on the top shelf when a voice caught her off guard causing her to almost drop the jar.
"Um, excuse me miss, could-" before the voice could finish, Suu spun round and gave a shaking bow.
"Please don't eat me!" she almost bellowed to the confused catgirl who had tried to ask her a question.
"Um, sure? I wasn't going to. I just wanted to ask if you could grab the barbecue sauce up there since you're almost thrice my size." the small catgirl replied with concern.
"Do you get a lot of people asking to eat you?" she asked with a soft smile. Suu just nodded nervously.
"I guess that makes sense given you're a minotaur girl. Though it's rare to find one who doesn't want to find a pred."
"Ya, unfortunately for me. Any time someone gets the munchies I get a dozen people asking to eat me. I've had to literally fight people off because they wanted to eat me anyway. I- I just can't take it." Suu collapsed too the ground in tears. The catgirl nodded then smiled she calmly placed a hand of the sobbing minotaur's shoulder.
"I may have an idea. What if I was your predator, if anyone asks to eat you we can just say you agreed to be my prey and keep you safe. It's not like I have anything to do and if you don't want to be my prey I won't force you but if you do change your mind I would love to eat you. Okay, sweetie?" Suu was shocked by the cat's care for her even though they had just met.
"Would that even work? I don't mean to be rude but you are just a catgirl, would anyone even believe you could eat me? Miss? Um, you never gave me your name."
The catgirl blushed "Oh my bad, my name is Chie and you wouldn't be the first girl taller than me I've eaten. After all, I ate a Jotnar a few weeks ago and she was eight and a half feet so you would be no problem". Suu stared in mild horror at the idea of such a small catgirl devouring a giantess.
Suu gulped nervously "If you don't mind then I guess that seems like a good plan, if you don't mind that is." the three-foot cat girl leapt up effortlessly onto Suu's broad shoulders with a grin.
"Let's go shopping tasty" the last bit clearly added to tease the poor Minotaur.

Not long after, the two were greeted by a seven-foot-tall oni with three large horns.
"Oh yes, I think you would do nicely. Care to feed a hungry oni? it'll be fun." the woman chimed cheerfully. Before Suu could say anything Chie popped in with a cheer in her voice.
"Sorry Versa she's mine and I'm going to save her for the right time." the oni slouched a bit at hearing this.
"Rats. You beat me to her again Chie. You have a knack for finding the giant cuties. Well, I guess I'll just have to find someone else to be my meal. Maybe a cute harpy." with that the oni wandered off.
"She didn't fuss or anything," Suu exclaimed in shock bewildered by how easy it had been.
"Of course. Versa understands how rude it is to eat someone if they don't want to or if they agreed to feed someone else. Now, you needed cereal right?"
"Right. Wait does that mean you two know each other?" Suu timidly squeaked.

The two continued shopping with Chie deterring two other predators from trying to eat Suu before they made their way to Suu's home Chie still looking after the nervous minotaur.
The two soon arrived at Suu's apartment, Suu glanced back at the catgirl unsure how to handle such a kind pred.
"Um, you were a ton of help today. Can I offer you a cup of tea as a thank you?" Suu nervously asked. This would be the first time she would have had a known pred in her home and one of three guests ever if Chie said yes.
"I'd love that" the cat responded with a grin. She waltzed into the tall apartment marvelling at the size of everything compared to her own home before remembering something she wanted to ask.
"Why are you so terrified of being eaten"? Suu froze. After a long moment, she spoke.
"Because I don't want to die."
"You know there are preds out there who have no problem not digesting you, right?" Chie asked calmly as she eyed the minotaur. Suu again froze as she thought about her words before saying anything.
"I've heard about them but any pred I meet seems pretty intent on making me into boob fat and I'm not sure I'd trust any pred to try that even if I found one who didn't." she turned around to tell Chie the tea was ready only to find the catgirl right in front of her with a smile.
"Oh, you don't trust me?" she playfully cued with a toothy grin. Suu tumbled to the floor taking Chie with her as she did. When she opened her eyes Chie had her pinned with a hungry smile, saliva dripping onto the minotaur.
"Wait! You said you wouldn't eat me! Please don't do this!" Suu cried horrified that the only preditor she had trusted was going to betray that trust and devour her.
"Don't worry. I said I wouldn't eat you, unless you want me to. I'm just trying to tell you that even if I do eat you, you don't have to worry about being digested. Okay?" with that she kissed Suu's forehead while giving her a tender embrace.
"You promise?" Suu whimpered a bit calmer now.
"Of course. Also, you can have the tea, I don't even drink tea I just wanted to stay around you awhile longer." the neko crawled off of Suu.
