Connie gave a smile, as Shred made his way out, leaving Connie, Johann and Schildra to fight against the numerous Heartless; they consisted of the Jack O’ Lantern, Pumpkin Soldier, Swaying Spook, Wandering Spook, Rush Ghost, Shred Ghost, Trick Ghost, Margoyle, Ferry Reaper, Vile Reaper, Nimble Reaper, Sorcerous Reaper, and the Furious Reaper. When the Heartless circled around them, the fight began. This was when the Jack O’ Lantern, the Swaying Spook, and the Wandering Spook were about to cast a Blizzard spell on them. However, Schildra was quick to create an energy barrier around them, blocking the Ice attacks. When the barrier was put up, Connie used this moment to raise her Keyblade up into the air, and used Lasting Hope on herself, Johann and Schildra, which made a vibrant green glow surround them for a moment, causing their strength to increase a little bit, as a sickly green glow surrounded the Heartless briefly, causing their defense to decrease a little.
Johann: What is this? Why do I feel a little stronger?
Connie: It’s an ability I can do. But I can only do it one to two times before I have to wait after a while.
Johann: Well at least it’s pretty handy. Can you do it again?
Connie: One moment.
Hearing Johann’s request, Connie raised her Keyblade up into the air, and used Lasting Hope again, making a vibrant green glow surround them once more, causing their strength to increase a little bit further, as a sickly green glow surrounded the Heartless again, causing their defense to decrease a little more. With the strength buffs, this was Johann’s chance.
Johann: Schildra! Drop the barrier!
Schildra: Okay!
Upon Schildra dismissing the barrier, Johann casted a spell from his book once again, creating three large crests in front of him, which unleashed a large blast at the directions of the Jack O’ Lantern, the Swaying Spook, and the Wandering Spook, unleashing a large magic blast from the three crests, destroying the three Heartless, leaving no trace of them. With the spell, Johann had eliminated three of the enemies. But this also left him, Schildra, and Connie open to be targeted by the others, in which the Rush Ghost, Shred Ghost, and the Trick Ghost took this chance to hover behind them, ready to strike. Realizing the ghosts’ antics and how they attack, Connie immediately took notice of the absence of the ghosts, making her move from her spot, and look behind. That’s where she dodged the swipe from the Trick Ghost, and saw the Rush Ghost and Shred Ghost ready to attack Johann and Schildra from behind.
Connie: Guys! Behind you!
Hearing Connie shout to them, Johann and Schildra turned around, seeing the Heartless ghosts. Both of them got away from where they were standing, narrowly escaping the attacks. With Johann and Schildra getting some distance from the Shred and Rush Ghost, Connie used Dark Laser. From out of thin air, dark purple lasers suddenly appeared, firing at the Rush, Shred, and Trick Ghosts. The three were attacked by the lasers from all sides until they had found themselves together in one spot. Connie soon grinned, knowing she had those ghosts right where she wanted them. When the three Ghosts were together, Connie raised up both her Keyblade, and her machete, which began to be covered in a dark purple veil. With her power charged up, Connie brought her keyblade and machete down, pointing it directly at the Rush, Shred and Trick Ghosts. As Connie did this, a massive dark purple blast of energy came from the tips of her weapons, firing a direct blast at the ghosts. Just as the blast continued to go past the Ghosts, it went on to blast a massive hole in the Ballroom, leaving a massive hole on the wall leading to outside. Seeing the aftermath of what her Dark Laser ability did, Johann and Schildra looked at Connie with disbelief, as Connie looked on front of her with eyes wide.
Connie: Well damn. Forgot how strong that move was with two weapons.
Too focused at what she had just done, Connie became distracted, leaving herself open. Seizing the opportunity, a Pumpkin Soldier Heartless charged towards Connie, ready to swipe its claws at her. But before it could connect its attack, a cybernetic leg suddenly connected to the side of its head, making it go across the room, land on the floor as it rolled, and hit hard against a wall. The Pumpkin Soldier was eliminated, as its body disappeared, and a Heart to come out and go up above and disappear. Proud at what she had done, Schildra smiled in triumph. But right behind her, the Margoyle did a flip in the air, using this chance to use its iron ball to slam it down on the Android. But before it could land the sneak attack, a powerful spell blast hit the Margoyle, causing it to disappear and leave only its Heart. When Schildra looked behind her, she saw Johann, who had just fired one of his spells to save her.
Schildra: Thanks for the save!
Johann: Gotta protect my friends after all!
Connie: Now that just leaves those five!
With more than half of the Heartless defeated, the only ones that remained were the Ferry, Vile, Nimble, Sorceress, and Furious Reapers.
Johann: I gotta ask this now. Connie, was it? I know you can handle yourself with what you’ve shown against these things. But it looks like you know what these creatures are. Care to elaborate and fill us in on what these things are?
Connie: These creatures are known as Heartless. Mindless monsters from the Darkness. They have no objectives, except just go after those who have Hearts. The stronger the individual, the stronger likelihood the Heartless will target them. But if the person wields a Keyblade, they would be drawn to them completely. And seeing how you two have handled yourselves, it’s not a surprise they have been targeting you two. As well as me. Then again, I have a Keyblade so no surprise there.
Johann: That does explain what these things are. But still doesn’t change the fact that we need to take them out. But the real question is. How?
Connie: Well, I do have an idea. But I am going to need help.
Schildra: Tell us what you need from us.
Needing to fill Johann and Schildra on her idea, Connie approached the both of them. However, when she did, the Ferry and Vile Reapers began to fly towards the three, positioning their scythes behind them. And with two of the Reapers coming towards them, Connie looked at Johann and Schildra, as the two of them have her a nod, ready to make the plan work. Not wasting anymore time, Connie began to dash towards the Ferry and Vile Reapers, Keyblade and machete positioned at the ready. When the three closed the distance between one another, the Ferry and Vile Reapers swung their scythes forward, making the attempt to strike Connie. However, instead of the scythes slashing and hutting Connie, they were blocked by her Keyblade and machete. Connie then used this moment to pish her entire body forward, using this momentum to push back the Ferry and Vile Reapers, making them swing their scythes back, leaving them wide open. It was then Connie used Dual Cyclone. The moment Connie began to use this ability, both her Keyblade and machete were veiled in energy radiating a sky-blue colour. It was then Connie began to deal a barrage of attacks and slashes towards the Ferry and Vile Reapers, with each of them being slashed 6 times. She then finished them off by firing a blast from both of her weapons, blasting the two Reapers, which resulted in their defeat as they disappeared, leaving only two Hearts in their place to float up and vanish. With the defeat of two of the Reapers, the Nimble and Sorceress Reapers flew towards Connie, seeing their opening to strike. However, as the two Reapers swung their scythes to strike Connie, it was blocked by an energy barrier created by Schildra, giving Connie time to step back. But the defense would only be temporary, as the barrier suddenly broke, not being capable of holding together after being attacked by the two Heartless.
Schildra: No! The barrier!
Johann: Don’t worry! I got this!
With the barrier gone, Johann quickly ran to the side of the Nimble and Sorceress Reapers, as he began to conjure a powerful spell. In front of Johann’s right hand, a massive crest formed in front of him, as a massive green magic blast came from the crest. This blast enveloped both of the Reapers, as they succumbed to the attack, and were destroyed. With 4 of the Reapers gone, the only one remaining was the Furious Reaper, who had taken the chance to fly towards Connie when the Nimble and Sorceress Reapers were destroyed, and flew through the now diminished magical blast, ready to strike with a swing of their scythe. But the attack wouldn’t connect, as Connie was able to react fast enough to use her Keyblade and machete to block it, with Connie proceeding to push the Furious Reaper back, making them swing their scythe behind them which created an opening. With this window of opportunity presenting itself to her, Connie dashed forward, and used Dual Cyclone once again. When Connie began to use this ability again, both her Keyblade and machete were veiled in energy radiating a sky-blue colour. Connie then began to deal a barrage of attacks and slashes towards the Furious Reaper, hitting the Heartless 14 times. She then fired a blast from both of her weapons, blasting the Furious Reaper, which resulted in its defeat as the Heartless disappeared, leaving a Heart in its place to float up and vanish. The battle was over, leaving Connie, Johann, and Schildra panting in exhaustion.
Connie: We….we did it.
Johann: Yeah….but glad we could get everyone out before more damage could be done.
Schildra: You said it. But we gotta regroup with Shred and the others. We can’t have them worrying about us.
Connie: There’s a good chance they’re at the front of the building. So let’s make our way there. But before I forget, I want to know the names of those who helped me.
Johann: Oh. Well then. Let me introduce myself then. My name is Johann. And as you know, I am a Sorcerer.
Connie: You were really great out there, Johann. And your friend too with her barriers.
Schildra: Thanks for that. And my name is Schildra. I’m just glad my energy barriers were able to help.
Connie: They really were. As for me, my name is Connie. It’s great to meet you two. But we better get going. Before someone tries to blame this mess on us.
